Question Celebrity Prime Foods

Anyone out there have a story about them, or an opinion? We were considering using their services, but we're not so sure right now.

Angry Celebrity Foods - EXTREMELY dissatisfied

I made the mistake of doing business with this company. I would suggest that anyone thinking about doing business with them THINK TWICE. I complained to them and it took several attempts to finally get some response, which was not satisfactory. I then escalated the complaint and got a letter (fax) in response that I was "extorting" from them! This was from their alleged Customer Service Manager. They do not provide a price breakdown and in my rush to sign I only found out later that out of an order totalling over $1500 only less than $600 was for actual food! The rest is for "service" which I have yet to see other than delivery.

Again, my suggestion is for people to AVOID doing business with this company. I personally intend to picket their booths whenever I find them.

I am in the process of creating a website EXPRESSLY DEVOTED to exposing this company's business practices. Please see http://mysite.verizon.net/res7vujc/ for more information. If you would like, I will be happy to provide you with copies of all documents regarding my experience with Celebrity Prime Foods. After you have seen all of these documents you will be able to make an informed decision about whether or not to do business with this company.

Angry Celebrity Foods

Do Not Deal With This Comapny. They refuse to tell you up front how much the individual items of food cost so it is impossible to tell if you are getting a good deal. Also, if you do not have a freezer to store 6 months of food in they will offer to "provide" a freezer for you. However, the sailsperson deleberately mislead us and failed to tell us that we were purchasing a $2300 freezer and buying an $89.00 service contract on the freezer. When I received the bill for the freezer I was flabergasted and called the compnay immediately. I can buy a perfectly good freezer for less than $500. There is no way I would have agreed to buy a $2300 freezer. After talking to four other people in the comapny without satisfaction, I have made my way up to the vice-president of the company who told me, "go ahead and take us to court. I am already paying a lot of high-priced lawyers. I might as well put them to work." He was also more upset that I yelled at him over the phone then he was that i was accusing his company of fraud. They insist that they try to aviod confusion and misunderstanding in their dealings with customers, but the entire experience with the initial sales representitative was deliberatley calculated to cause confusion and misrepresentation. And they have absolutely no concern for dissatisfied customers. Do not do business with them.

Just in time!

I just wanted to give a big thanks to everyone who posted, you just saved me from a huge mistake. My wife and I just sent the rep packing after being in the house for over two hours and almost signing a contract. Luckily I thought to check the web before I signed. From what I've read I got the same shpeal about quality and savings etc... but not one single hard number about price per pound or delivery fee's and contract obligations. When I went back in the room and started asking pointed questions about these cost's the straight answers were few and far between. I asked to see their price and portion break down book and the rep said he could show me individual items but I could not hold or browse the book. Don't get me wrong he was a nice guy and verry professional but when I told him I had done some research on the net he went a little pale. So we thanked him for his time and took his card and sent him out while we did further research. To date I have not read one single all positive review of their products or services other than the ones provided on the companys site. So thanks again for the heads up!

Angry Beware Celebrity Prime Foods

Avoid Celebrity Foods like the plague. They tell you they are giving you 'gifts' or they will 'provide' you with a freezer or pots and pans and then you find you are being charged $3000 for something worth $500 max.

I actually like the food but not the deceptive sales practices. I have filed a complaint with the state attorney general today. Beware!!!

Unhappy Former CP Foods Customer

We were former customers, and we have two other couples who were customers here for dinner tonight. We are not eating their products for several reasons:

1. We were ALL lied to about the discounts to be received from "Fullfillment"
of the purchasing of their products. Prices did not go down, they went up.

2. They refused to tell us what items actually cost , thus we could not forcast our cost.

3. They, that is their reps got pissed when we and otjer refused to take their "Balanced Order" as drove our prices up.

4 We were told that the replacement cost for air filters used in the air purifer we purchased would be $28ea. Insteda they wanted $250 ea when we
ordered a replacement.

5. We were all advised that by purchasing their merchise our food bills would go down by 44%. They went up!

6. CP Foods ignored our complaints and questions.

7. We all discontinued the service and now buy from Costco and bulk/restrant suppliers, which is less expensive.

Don't be fooled.......it didn't work for long on us. They any damn fool can learn by experience. If someone had told me what I am telling you from the start, I wouldn't have gone there!

$60.00 Chicken

$60.00 chicken.

That's what we paid.

We paid $1500.00 and recieved 71 pounds of food. So that means I paid
$21.00 a pound for my chicken, $21.00 a pound for my vegetables,
$21.00 a pound for my chicken pot pies.

Of couse when I asked them to honor there "Customer Satisfction Guarantee"

Well let's say its not worth talking about.

If you value you money, stay away. Stay far away!

If anyone has any knowledge of a class action suit being formed against this company please post the information so that we may all join in.

Exclamation Prime Foods

Now is this the same company as Montery Prime Foods? I am wondering because I had an account with a company and I do know that Prime Foods was at the end of it. The reason I asked is this, we desided that we DID NOT want the service anymore because of the fact the meat was not up to standards, the freezers we recived where older then snot, and well it was way to high in price. What did I find when I canceled do to disatisfaction? Welllll apperintly they come after you for the remaining balance of product that you DID NOT recive. I now have a big bill on my hands for over 1500 bucks! There claiming that I have to buy out the contract, mind you I didnt see in the contract anywhere and was told by a rep if we wanted out we could just discontinue if we where not satisfyed! So I honestly would like to know, is Prime Foods a HUGE comapny accrosed the nation with diffrent names? With distro's kind of like car dealerships, or is it just yet another Prime Foods out of Vegas thats doing this crap?

Thanks
Tiffinee

Prime Foods Works for Me

My wife and I have been buying food from Prime Foods for a couple of years now and my parents even longer. We appreciate the quality of the foods delivered and the freezer and other stuff we've bought from this company. This company and the reps we have dealt with have been above board and fair with us from day one. The have been very accommodating and friendly too. They are never hard to contact and are very timely to act upon anything we ask of them.

I have to wonder how careful people are with companies providing this kind of service? We were very skeptical at the beginning and didn’t sign anything until we understood what was being offered. We were referred by people we trust who had been buying food from this company for over a year. I am sure there are dishonest people in any company, and maybe that is why there are some probably very valid complaints. But one has to wonder why so few people have complained about a company that services tens of thousands of customers.

Maybe what my wife and I have to say is not as interesting as a complaint. But I felt it was only fair to balance this forum with a vote of confidence for this company.

i am getting nowhere..

A Salesman from Prime Foods, here locally in Las Vegas, came to our home and convinced us to sign a contract for 2 years for food at a $540.00+ payment per month, and that if we chose to, after the first shipment, we could reduce the amount of food we were scheduled to receive and lower the payment based on the reduced amount of food delivered FOR THE REMAINING TERM OF THE CONTRACT. Well, now that we have seen the awount of food, he convinced us to buy, it is entirely too much. The contract was sold to Monterey Finance based out of California somewhere, who OWNS Prime Food, says "Not so". Monterey claims they paid for the contract. Prime Foods, even thou the money is "in the family" will not refund the difference to Monterey, thus making us resposnible for the entire blance, contrary to what the salesman represented in our home. because we wish to have less delivered, we are now being strong armed into fullfilling this contract at a longer term at the lesser amount. I find this sort of sales very misleadisg to the public. Can you help?

I paid a fair bit for an order. Most of the order rotted when I the freezer door wasn't properly closed. In theory they replaced the destroyed portion of the order, at half price, but in reality it cost about 80% of what the first order did (and I intentionally didn't order any non-frozen foods, as the unlisted sizes were very small).

If the food had been very high quality, I wouldn't mind paying a little more. Unfortunately it's not. It's actually fairly loaded with water and salt. (probably why some say it tastes better.) I noticed that my recipies made with Costco frozen meat were much more watery when prepared with meat from from Celebrity Foods. In addition some of the ground beef has had an off smell, despite our freezer being set to well below 0 degrees (in other words, it wasn't our freezer).

Have I pursued the company directly? No, nor will I. Everything I've been lead to believe, and have read in the contracts, indicates to me that I'd just waste even more money and time. I'd rather tell others to just avoid the company.

Would I like to find a company that delivered high quality meat directly to our door? Sure. So far, the best I've found (for Bison) is Sayersbrook Ranch (Http://Sayersbrook.Com/).

I am fighting a battle with Celebrity Prime Foods and have lost several documents over the years. I am looking for a copy of the Customer Satisfaction Guarantee document that is included with the initial paperwork. Anyone with a copy they are willing to share please let me know.
